Proceeds benefit Working Animals Giving Service for Kids (W.A.G.S. 4 Kids), a non-profit organization providing service dogs to kids with special needs throughout 25 counties of NE & Central Ohio. Trained by the Inmates of Grafton & Mansfield Correctional Institutes. This is a Kids Who Can! Youth Empowerment Event.
Race Registration
Registration:
5K – $30
1 Mile Walk & Roll - $20The in-person race will start and end at: Coe Lake Park, Berea (Map It)
Registration begins at 9 a.m. on the day of the event
The 5K begins at 10 a.m. and The Walk & Roll begins at 10:15 a.m.
Follow along our interactive map to time yourself against our 5K course map as you train!
This event is open to all whether you are a competitive runner, everyday runner or walker!
Presented by FirstEnergy to promote health, inclusion and give visibility to WAGS' service dogs and the incredible abilities of children living with challenges in their everyday lives. 100% of funds raised supports W.A.G.S. 4 Kids training programs & youth services.

- Finishers' medals are designed and printed by our trainers at Grafton Correctional Institution (GCI) & guaranteed for all paid participants who pre-register by August 3rd, 2023
- Original T-shirt also designed and printed by our guys at GCI, available for pre-order by or before July 21st, 2023 for pickup the day of the event. Shirts may also be ordered at the door for an additional fee to be mailed directly to you.
- We're still in this together! Take a selfie with #WonderRun5K at our Portraits by Matthew Photo booth and post it to the event page for a chance to win $250 in prizes and gift cards!
- Leashed Dogs Welcome! (No Fee)
- All SWAG to be mailed out the week of August 7th including water bottles (for the first 20!), medals, dog toys, and more!
The 1Mi. Walk + Roll is for Wheelchairs and Strollers only. Bikes, skateboards, etc. are prohibited.
All dogs must remain leashed at all times. Please bring your own doggy doo-doo bags and pick up after your pets.
We want to keep the park looking great so that we are allowed to return each year to raise more funds for more super service dogs!
*An acknowledgement of your tax deductible donation will be included in the transaction details of your race confirmation email.

- Sign up between now and August 4th.
- Download your virtual bib.
- Race anywhere, anytime, any pace.
- Post your time to Run Sign Up when you complete your race (By 8/5 at Noon).
- Receive your race swag in the mail.
Race swag will ship at the end of each month! So if you sign up in April, expect your swag in early May.
What is included with your entry fee:
- $10 - $15 donation to the organization.
- Custom finisher medal.
- The first 20 registrants receive a water bottle
- Race Shirt (If ordered, by or before 7/21/23)
- Superhero-themed family fun pack that includes activity sheets, design-your-own mask + cape, superhero certificate, and more
- Shipping of your race swag.

FAQ's
So what’s all this W.A.G.S. Wonder Run stuff about?
The event is organized by a committee and sponsored by First Energy to promote health, ability and visibility in the Special Needs community. Come dressed up as your favorite super hero because everyone is a super hero! The fun doesn’t end when the race does. Stick around and enjoy a puppy kissing booth, free refreshments for all ages, and more! It’s the Run for Ability! Celebrating all our Working Animals Giving Service!
But what if I’m not a runner or athletic, in any way shape or form?
You don't have to be anything but Special Needs friendly to attend this event! Have you considered a pleasant walk along the route around Berea? Grab a friend and take a shot at your first 5K.
Can I bring my family, including the dog?
We would absolutely love it if you bought your dog to the race! Service animals and pets are allowed as long as they are leashed and follow ADA laws.
You will have an opportunity to meet some service animals at the end of the race as some of our W.A.G.S. 4 Kids service dogs, dogs in training and demo dogs will be present. Your pet(s) may come with a spectator as long as they remain on a leash at all times and are cleaned up after. You must bring your own doggy do-do bags. If your pets do not get along well with other animals, please keep them at a safe distance from others and from the other animals present at the finish line. If your pet is very well behaved and loves other animals, please respect that this is not true of every dog present. Do not approach others who have dogs or the rescue animals unless they have told you it is safe to do so.
Will there be refreshments provided at the race?
Yes! Bottled water + snacks will be available.
Parking: Very Important!
Neighborhood street parking is available and FREE! Limited lot parking will be available (maps soon to come!)
Will there be awards or prizes?
Yes. Finishers medals will be given to all of our Runners as well as top 3 awards for male/female in each age group.
When and where is packet pick up?
Packet pick up will take place the day of the event 9am - 10am at Coe Lake, Berea, OH. Please print out your registration prior to coming to packet pick-up to help speed up the process.
When is late registration?
Late registration will take place during packet pick up and on race day from 9am-10am.
What does the race shirt look like?
A mock-up of this year's W.A.G.S. Wonder Run race shirt will be posted in the coming weeks. Sizing will vary depending on cut so please be sure to reference these size charts if you are unsure about which size to choose.

What is your refund policy?
Sorry, race fees are non-refundable
Weather Policy:
Race director has the authority to cancel or delay the race due to extreme weather conditions. The race may be canceled or cut short due to weather, should the event begin, but weather worsens during the course. In the event of weather cancelation after the event has begun, there will be no refunds.

Volunteers are truly the backbone of any event and your support is greatly appreciated.
What to expect as a volunteer
What to wear:
- A shirt with sleeves
- Pants, shirts or shorts that you don't mind getting dirty
- Comfortable closed toes shoes
There will not be a secured area to store purses and other valuable items at this event. Please plan to leave any valuables in your car or on your person during your time with us. We will provide water for you throughout the event.
Rules & Expectations
Our volunteers are a key attribute to the festival and to our patrons; you are instrumental in setting the friendly vibe that keeps people coming back. As such, we ask that volunteers maintain a friendly, civil, and welcoming demeanor at all times.
We also ask that all volunteers report for work on time, dressed appropriately, and free of the influence of alcohol or other substances. Here is a complete list of volunteer rules and expectations:
Volunteer Expectations: Report to your volunteer coordinator 10 minutes prior to your shift start.
- An ability to work well with a variety of other people including W.A.G.S. 4 Kids staff, other volunteers and attendees.
- Give us your best effort and perform quality work – stay on task.
- Wear comfortable pants, shorts or a skirt you don't mind getting dirty and close-toed shoes, and a shirt with sleeves.
- If you have complaints, issues and/or questions about any volunteer’s actions or decisions, please direct your concern to your Captain and the volunteer coordinator will come and help resolve the situation.
- Volunteers will have the ability to sample any beverages they may be serving.
