W.A.G.S. 4 Kids To Host Second Annual W.A.G.S.inCLE Night Out
Providing Service Dogs to Local Children with Disabilities
CLEVELAND, April 11, 2017 -- Working Animals Giving Service for Kids (W.A.G.S. 4 Kids) is hosting its second annual W.A.G.S.inCLE Night Out at the Ariel International Center in Downtown Cleveland.
Hosted by WKYC’s Monica Robins on Thursday September 21st from 7pm until 11pm, twelve of Cleveland's finest local farm to table restaurants are slated to tantalize our taste buds serving small bites sourced regionally. Cocktails will also be seasonal and plentiful as guests enjoy an open bar featuring locally brewed beer, locally sourced wines and notable local liquors, mixed expertly to taste. Guests will be greeted with a red carpet entrance featuring some of our service dogs in training and led up to our event space featuring a 360 Degree Lake Erie view of Cleveland at Sunset, Live and Silent Auction Items, Cocktail Hour, LIVE entertainment and more to come!
Valet Parking will be provided and is free.
W.A.G.S.inCLE supports the mission of Working Animals Giving Service for Kids (W.A.G.S. 4 Kids). W.A.G.S. 4 kids is the only 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to training and placing Mobility Service and Autism Spectrum Service dogs to children up to the age of 18.
Aside from being a super fun night out in Cleveland, W.A.G.S.inCLE Night Out benefits each and every one of W.A.G.S.’ Kids supported by W.A.G.S. 4 Kids Step By Step Training Programs and services. The goal of W.A.G.S.inCLE Night Out is to raise $30,000 with the potential to fully fund up to three W.A.G.S. Kids.
In 2016, over 200 people came out to W.A.G.S.inCLE Night Out, including dog fans, advocates for the abilities of people living with challenges in their everyday lives, front-runners within the re-entry community, parents and other leaders of our community, enjoying an evening together to benefit our programs and children. That’s a lot of caring people! Together we raised $25,000 and threw open the doors to a brand new Step By Step Training Program serving 6 more counties in Central, Ohio.
Because of you - we have now stretched beyond Northeastern Ohio to a second location in Central Ohio at Franklin Medical Center (FMC), a correctional facility in Franklin County. Now, we need your support to reach the children there. FMC houses the end of life hospice care unit for the ODRC. Our W.A.G.S. dogs, while in training for their final placement with a child, will be used for periods of comfort care in the hospice unit. Another way your support affects the lives of so many. With this expansion we look forward to serving a greater population of kids in need and to build another program affecting real life rehabilitation through skills training and the Workforce Development Initiative of our inmate trainers through job creation. “
Our 2017 goal is simple – more dogs, more trainers, and more financial support for training tools, medical expenses and puppy acquisition; so we can continue our mission to reach more kids who need our help,” said W.A.G.S. 4 Kids Executive Director, Wendy Crann. “This year, more than any before, please join us! The children have found us, they are depending on us, they are depending on you, and they are waiting.” With your help that becomes a reality, ensuring a direct and immediate impact on a child in the communities of Cleveland by granting their desire to acquire a service dog of their own.

W.A.G.S. 4 Kids is YOUR 2015 Cleveland Scene Readers' Choice Best Charity organization that empowers local children with disabilities by providing mobility service and autism service dogs to meet the specific needs of children with disabilities in Northeast Ohio, utilizing their Award-Winning ODRC Accredited Cell Dog Training Program. Service dogs are custom trained to provide therapeutic, emotional and physical support for children with disabilities and their families.
