Hello friends, we’d like you to meet Hadley. She is a beautiful, sweet, cuddly 5 year old. When she was 2 years old, Hadley was diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum (severe), and with speech and language disorder. She has very few words, and uses them rather inconsistently. Like many kiddos on the spectrum, she often has difficulties in social situations, and when transitioning from one setting to another. Sometimes this leads to meltdowns, as she is unable to communicate her feelings with words, which leads to greater frustrations.
Hadley attends a school that focuses on Applied behavior analysis (ABA), speech, occupational, and physical therapies. Her teachers and therapists do such an amazing job, and our little girl has made so much progress! Hadley’s big sister describes her as “the coolest girl ever”, and anyone who has ever met her can’t help but love her instantly. She enjoys playing with her sister and cousins, snuggling with our two cats, running and playing outside, jumping in the trampoline, swimming, and playing at the park. But watch out, this little love is fast! Which is how she earned one of her nicknames, “The Ginger Ninja”.
Hadley loves animals, in fact, one word she does say is “Dog”. When our neighbors walk their dog, she runs to them, waves excitingly, and once in a while will say “Hi” while she gently pets their furry friend.
A service dog would be an amazing addition to our family, helping Hadley find her voice, stay calm and anchored in frustrating situations, and offer support when she is feeling overwhelmed with sensory input. We feel that having this special bond and companionship will also help Hadley learn responsibilities as she grows.
Hadley is one lucky girl, surrounded by all of you, family and friends, who love her and want to see her reach her full potential. We thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for considering donating to this wonderful cause to help this magnificent child.
