Wags4Kids ~ Donations for Race

Race was diagnosed with autism shortly
after his 2nd birthday. As first time
parents, we felt Race was developing typically and hitting mile stones on
schedule. He rolled over on time, walked at 9 months and was saying words
before he was 1 year old. By October of 2006, it was
like our son left us . . there was a vacancy. No eye contact, very few words
and no interest in anyone. With early intervention,
amazing therapists and wonderful teachers, we started to get our son back.
In February 2010, Race was diagnosed with Asperger’s – high
functioning autism. Although extremely bright, we still
have many challenges. Race struggles with social
situations and processing everything going on around him.
A companion dog would help Race improve
socialization, relationships, teach mutual respect and bonding and increase self
motivation. All necessary life skills.
Animals have an amazing gift of tranquility.
Still, quiet moments are few in our home. With a
companion dog, we feel Race would experience more periods of calm.
As a parent, you want to give your children everything you can. Your
contributions to this effort are tremendously appreciated.
