Wags4Kids ~ Donations for Nathan

Bookmark and Share

Nathan was born prematurely at 26 ½ weeks and weighed 1 lb. 14 oz. He was diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy at age one and at age 5 had an additional diagnosis of Epilepsy. Nathan enjoys going to school, where he receives physical, occupational, mobility and speech therapies. He is a very happy 12 year old that enjoys attending music therapy, participating in Youth Challenge and Challenger Baseball leagues and spending time with family and friends. He especially likes sports and loves watching all his hometown teams. One of Nathan’s biggest accomplishments has been driving his own motorized wheelchair and becoming more independent. Nathan’s family is very proud of how far he has come, but still, we are concerned about providing opportunities for Nathan to socialize. The addition of a trained service dog will encourage Nathan to interact with other children, to provide an interactive playmate and will be a constant friend and companion when the activities other children may engage in would exclude him. We would do anything to improve the quality of our son’s life. We hope you will help us provide the very special gift of a service dog for Nathan.

Congratulations to Nathan!  With the help of family and friends' donations, Nathan is now waiting patiently for one of the new WAGS dogs in training to be his own.  Future donations made in Nathan's name will now go to the WAGS 4 KIDS General Fund to help fund the training programs that make WAGS dogs available for more families.  Please continue to help.
