Wags4Kids ~ Donations for Max

Max
was first diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when he was 18 months old after he first
began to have difficulty walking and balancing. At 18 months
old Max received his first set of bilateral hip braces and learnt to walk using
these devices. He has also undergone Botox injections in his
legs, casting of both his lower legs at the same time, and continuous physical
therapy in and out of school. Max also suffers from quite
severe anxiety about going outside in the summer for which he receives
medication. Max is a fun loving boy with a great sense of
humor who likes building legos, playing video games and spending time with his
friends. He is very excited at the thought of the privilege
of having a WAGS service dog to assist him in his day to day life.
One of the major benefits will be Max being able to use the dog as a
brace on the stairs and while walking to reduce the amount of falls he has.
Due to the leg braces he currently wears Max has a difficult time
balancing to bend down to retrieve dropped objects. Max and
his family know how blessed we are to have a trained WAGS dog to help Max
improve his standard of living.
