Wags4Kids ~ Donations for Jack

Jack was born with a rare chromosome abnormality called Trisomy 16Q+. As a result Jack is cognitively delayed and participates in a special education program at school. Jack has attention deficit disorder (ADHD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), hypotonia (low muscle tone), you get the picture. We would like to get a companion dog for Jack for a variety of reasons the first being he is easily calmed when a dog is present. Jack is not much of an outdoor kid but really enjoys assisting with walking his babysitter’s dog. Because of Jack’s muscle weakness and attention issues he needs a dog that is very well trained that we feel comfortable allowing Jack to walk. By having his own dog it will provide opportunities for Jack to have appropriate social interactions with same age peers. We also hope it will give him a sense of independence with the responsibilities required in taking care of his dog. Please help us get a companion dog for Jack which will enrich his life greatly.
